Why is lead considered dangerous?

Lead is dangerous and considered a hazardous material by the Environmental Protection Agency. Lead can enter the body many different ways; breathing or swallowing lead dust, or by eating dirt or paint with lead in it. Lead can have many negative affects, affecting pregnant women and children more though.
